What is Optimism?

The Optimism Collective operates with a unique governance model featuring two chambers: the Token House (OP holders) and the Citizens’ House (focused on public goods funding). This dual-governance approach aims to build a sustainable ecosystem that funds open-source development and public infrastructure.
Optimism’s Superchain vision involves creating a network of interoperable L2 chains built on a shared, open-source codebase. Major projects including Coinbase’s Base chain are built using the OP Stack. The OP token is used for governance and incentive distribution across the ecosystem.
