What is Sui?
Sui is a next-generation Layer 1 blockchain built by Mysten Labs, founded by former Meta engineers who worked on the Diem (Libra) project. Sui uses the Move programming language and an object-centric data model that enables parallel transaction processing, achieving high throughput with low latency.
Sui’s architecture is designed for consumer-facing applications, gaming, and social platforms where speed and user experience are critical. Its approach to transaction processing allows independent transactions to be executed simultaneously without waiting in a queue, resulting in sub-second finality for most operations.
Since launching in 2023, Sui has attracted a growing ecosystem of DeFi protocols, NFT platforms, and gaming applications. The SUI token is used for gas fees, staking, and governance.
